Most parents discover pretty early on in pregnancy that they aren’t going to get their questions answered in their 15-minute doctor visits.
They turn to books and find that they are outdated, or trying to push them into a type of birth they aren’t interested in.
They ask friends and family but get a whole lot of opinions, misinformation, and judgment.
Finally, they go to childbirth classes that are held in an uncomfortable classroom, driven by the agenda of the teacher, and just plain boring.

Perinatal education is a fancy word for education about anything that happens from pregnancy through postpartum. The education that I offer is custom-made for YOU so you don't have to slog through anyone else's opinions or waste time on topics that don't interest you.

What is a Perinatal Educator?
Here's what I can promise you...
I understand the many challenges of preparing for birth and postpartum and I will never judge what you are doing to navigate this time.
I will take the time to learn your specific preferences.
I will share everything I know, tips, and resources to optimize your birth experience.
As your Perinatal Educator, I will do many things for you…

Listen to what you are experiencing, your needs, and what is frustrating you without judgment

Provide education about pregnancy, the birth process, and the postpartum period so you know what to expect

Teach you an informed decision-making process for birth and beyond

Help you develop a birth and postpartum plan to tell your medical team and support people how to care for you in labor and postpartum

Provide hands-on guidance with positions and comfort measures for labor

Provide education for feeding your baby

Provide information on the patterns of infant sleep so you can work with your baby’s sleep cycles to support healthy sleep

Provide resources, tips and tricks, and options for your whole family
I am certified as a perinatal educator by INEPES.
Private Education Sessions
90 minute sessions
Suggested investment: $150 for one session or package of three for $400

Perinatal Education sessions can be used as you wish. They can be helpful for those who would like personalized information for their choice of birth location, for specific medical conditions, or to avoid prior birth experiences from being repeated.

Your sessions can be in person or via Zoom. Sessions include:

Sliding Scale Fees
Everyone should be able to have a doula if they want one. I offer a sliding scale as one way to acknowledge the differences in income, generational wealth, privilege, and costs of services that exist in our current economy. As a small business owner, I can’t change the systems of economic disparities and social injustice as quickly as I’d like. But this is how I can create more opportunities for equity, change the way business is done, and make a difference in the lives of folks in my community.
